Our Expanded Ethical Mandate
Our review framework extends ethical protection beyond research participants to include:
- Researchers and data collectors
- Volunteers and field staff
- Communities hosting or affected by projects
This reflects our commitment to justice, reciprocity, and institutional responsibility.
Our Triple-Stream Review Process
Unlike traditional models, BMY Health employs a three-stream ethics review structure to provide comprehensive oversight:
-
Scientific Review
Assesses methodological rigor, topic validity, study design, and accuracy of operational definitions through subject-matter and methodology experts. -
Ethics Review
Evaluates respect for persons, concern for welfare, justice, informed consent, risk–benefit balance, data privacy, and community considerations. -
Operations Review
Screens operational integrity as an ethical prerequisite, assessing feasibility, efficiency, governance structures, and contingency planning to ensure that participant contributions are not expended on unachievable projects.
Online & Efficient Processes
All submissions, reviews, communications, and approvals are managed through structured online automated systems to support transparency, documentation, and timely decision-making.
