Week 11

Attention Research Interns! Week 11 has officially started and we have passed half the time for data collection alongside learning Data Analysis learning!

Daily Focus:

·       Complete Data Collection: Continue with your data collection efforts with speed to ensure you reach your target sample size by the end of this phase. Consistency is key!

·       Workshops on STATA: By now interns should have installed STATA from previous week guidelines, and be familiar with do file, working directory and STATA interface. Now we will start learning analysis from this week onwards.

Schedule for Week 11

Monday

Watch the second STATA workshop video as a group

Continue with your data collection.

Tuesday, Wednesday

Re-watch the video individually and Practice on the provided datasets from the workshop resources

Continue your data collection process.

Thursday

Attend a live tutorial to address any queries

Complete your STATA assignment

Continue your data collection process.

Friday

Attempt the Quiz

Continue your data collection process.

Weekend Activities

Tutorials, Assignments

To get the most out of tutorials, active participation is the key! Please make sure to log in with a computer rather than a mobile device, as this often makes it easier to engage with shared screens and interactive elements. Come prepared for practicing. Complete the recording, STATA should have already been installed, start practicing on it, then u will have queries and will be able to avail the tutorial best. Also please share queries before the tutorial so that instructors plan their time and are best prepared to answer that.

Coordinate with your group. Reach out to HR person in case of any coordination difficulties with mentor (admin@bmyhealth.com).

Session 2: Exploring Data in STATA, Data Visualization, Hypothesis Testing

SESSION 2 recording:

Tips of learning through recording: Completely watch the recording once and then re-watch to practice. Please focus on learning steps of basic analysis first, and write codes of analysis relevant in your project in a separate file for more focused learning. Start practicing on given datasets, starting with basic analysis such as calculating mean, SD, and then learning more details of different charts and hypothesis testing.

Assignment:

  • Fetch dataset from this url:
  • Cross tabulate region and high blood pressure status with row percentages, repeat this analysis for PSU 2
  • Statistically test skewness and kurtosis for tcresult, tgresult & hdresult. Repeat this analysis for diabetic and non-diabetic individuals
  • Create a scatterplot matrix and fit linear regression for tcresult, tgresult & hdresult
