Workshop Session-4

1.       Workshop Session 4 Recording: Data Collection Tools

This session provides students with essential knowledge on how to design and use data collection tools such as questionnaires, interviews, and observational checklists. The aim is to help learners understand not only the technical steps of tool development, but also the ethical principles, validation processes, and contextual adaptation necessary for credible research.

Researchers should learn to write clear and unbiased questions, consult research participants or subject experts for validation of their tools, and ensure cultural and ethical appropriateness in questionnaires.

In the journey of developing a meaningful scientific evidence, data collection stands as one of the most crucial and skill-demanding steps. Mostly researchers consider tool development the easiest step as it doesn’t involve learning heavy concepts, however, it is a step which is irreversible, a wrongly phrased question out of hurry can affect the whole study.
